I’ve been keeping an eye on a certain person I know very well. I’ve observed their walk with God isn’t always what it should be. At times they seem to detour off track. Self-righteousness has been known to make an appearance. Every now and then the ugly face of worldliness is evidenced. It can be very disappointing to behold. For the most part, this person is an “on fire” believer, standing strong in the faith, pursuing God with all that they have. They reveal a love for people, both saved and lost. After watching closely I’ve concluded that God must be very patient and long-suffering with our personal shortcomings. He obviously gives all of us time to willingly conform to His image and His ways. But keeping things in balance, we must also bear in mind that God’s mercy is not an excuse to travel in a wrong direction. We are not to make ourselves at home with lifestyles that are unbiblical. As I continue my observations it makes me wonder; just what will I see in the mirror tomorrow?
