Fall... I love the colors. The crunch of leaves under my feet as my breath is visible in the crisp morning air. The acorns falling to the ground. Fall was my favorite in Missouri... the apple cider and pumpkin harvest, and Christmas program practices.
Now that I have MS, fall signals less pain and improved balance in cooler temperatures. A return to feeling normal.
But have you noticed... all of this beauty comes because nature is doing the cyclical dance of seasonal death. Leaves die and fall. Fruit comes from the tree and drops. Then it gets buried in snow and dirt so that in the spring new life can burst out.
What about you? Are you in the season of dying? Dreams and hopes, jobs, sickness, relationships??? And its painful knowing that your heart is going to heavily fall and break and be buried under the weight of it?
It is in this season God delights to show Himself strong when we seek His comfort. He makes even the endings of dreams beautiful in His time, moment by agonizing moment, day by day, held lovingly in the arms of the Potter.
This season of life will not stay. He has made you for more. He is making all things new. Dreams and promises given to Him become more and better and deeper and richer and sweeter. Eternity is ours! Lift up your head. He is not finished yet.
God’s solid foundation is still standing with this sign: The Lord knows the people who belong to him, and Everyone who confesses the Lord’s name must avoid wickedness. In a mansion, there aren’t just gold and silver bowls but also some bowls that are made of wood and clay. Some are meant for special uses, some for garbage. So if anyone washes filth off themselves, they will be set apart as a “special bowl.” They will be useful to the owner of the mansion for every sort of good work. - 2 Timothy 2:19-21
