The United States of America was not chosen as a nation by God, instead our nation's founders chose to follow God. The blessing and promises of Israel are not ours, but the blessings and promises of God’s word to any person or any nation that puts their faith and trust in His word are ours. May we never lose our faith and hope in God. May we always be a nation whose God is the Lord and will always be able to say, “In God we trust.”

The Christian way of life can be summed up with one word...love, specifically agape, self-giving, self-sacrificing love. We see this in John 3:16, the verse that encapsulates the Gospel. bringing it into clear focus. Jesus wants the apostles and us to realize this truth. Yet it is a lesson most Christians never seem to learn. When it is most needed and could make such a difference in the world and especially in a church, this central tenet of the Christian faith fails in us.

Being a father in this world is a tough, hard, nearly impossible job. Our hope lies not in a perfect fatherhood, but in our perfect Father. That is where our hope and hearts should be on this Father’s Day. Go to Jesus seek life for your family. He is the life giver. Go to Jesus and intercede for you children. He is the One who answers prayer. Go to Jesus and put your faith in Him unconditionally. He has promised, “I will never leave you. Never forsake you. Never fail you.”
Fathers much rests on your shoulders, but Jesus has promised he would bear the yoke with us. Let us rejoice and trust in that promise.

The branch does not strain to grow a leaf or send out a tendril or shoot forth a bud or grow a cluster of grapes. These things happen because the branch is attached to the vine. In the same way, the power of a Christian life is in staying strongly secured, absolutely attached to the vine, Jesus Christ. All you need is in Him. Make sure your relationship with Jesus is strong and the fruit will take care of itself.

Only those who have believed and by that faith are part of God’s family will respond to the trumpet call. Only those who believe Jesus is Messiah and Lord of Lords and King of Kings. These will hear the trumpet call meant and rejoice at the heaven splitting sound. But for those who refuse to believe and repent, the Lord’s return will see them flee in terror, begging the mountains and rocks to fall on them, but for them, there will be no place to hide from the wrath of God.
