I do support the President making appointing a successor to the late Ruth Bader Ginzburg before the election. The Supreme Court seats belong to the people and the President does not have to support the dying wish of a Supreme Court Justice. While the loss of RBG is very sad for her loved ones, we had strong disagreements with many of RBGs votes, such as voting for a requirement that state governments recognize same sex weddings. When Obama made his final Supreme Court choice, the Republicans had control of the Senate and were able to not have a confirmation vote. The Republicans still control the Senate and are going to have a confirmation vote. It will pass unless the number of Republicans voting no exceeds the number of Democrats voting less by 4 or more. So far only 2 Republicans hinted at possibly voting no.
