HOW DOES CULTURAL EVIL MANIFEST ITSELF.....
A short discussion of, Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn's, "The Gulag Archipelago."
Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn tied ideology to Evil. Ideology is what gives Evil the broad, cultural, social, and collective impetus that enables it to multiply and grow within a nation. A petri dish is where bacteria is given all that it needs to multiply, proper temperature, darkness, and nourishment. It’s called “culturing the bacteria.” A human culture can do the same thing with Evil.
Solzhenitsyn believed that Evil has a threshold. For the God-hater there is a line that one progressively moves toward and once that line is crossed there may well be no way back. This is clear throughout Scripture in that some people can and will be redeemed and some won’t. Some vessels are made for dishonor, for destruction and some for Glory and redemption.
Aleksandr said this, “But when, through the density of evil actions, the result either of his own extreme degree or of the absoluteness of his power, he suddenly crosses that threshold, he has left humanity behind, and without, perhaps, the possibility of return.”
He also said this, “From the most ancient times justice has been a two-part concept: virtue triumphs, and vice is punished.” Today Evil is also a two-part concept. Sin flourishes and vice is NOT punished. Do you see how both sides of the equation must be present for there to be an equal sign in between. (Virtue Triumphs = Vice is Punished) or (Sin Triumphs = Vice NOT Punished) It takes two to tango.
He noted that in the 20th century Russia was not a place where virtue triumphed, rather it was allowed to sit in tatters, broken, and in silence, unable to speak. And no one was allowed to speak of the atrocities and vice all around them. While Germany convicted 86,000 Nazi war criminals during the years after WWII Russia remained silent, convicting none of the past and ongoing crimes against humanity. We must note that this is now happening in America. Rioters and murderers go unnoticed while Christians and conservatives who try to speak of virtue and our moral history are silenced at every turn.
Russia was and still is unwilling to “open old wounds.” The KGB has not been purged or punished. In fact a KGB operative from the Cold War, Putin, now runs the nation, and will do so until he dies peacefully in his bed, most likely. Aleksandr said that unless a nation repents and recognized the evil it has done it cannot move forward. Thankfully America recognized the inherent Evil in slavery that we once embraced. We repented and moved forward but the black culture did not repent of their anger and hate and have not moved forward. They, just like Islam, are trapped in a bygone era, unable to forgive and unable to live free. They are still slaves to their own false gods of revenge and anger.
Language is not a perfect medium in which to communicate. We are forced to pick and choose words and order sentence in feeble attempts to express something, a Truth, a happening, a reality.
Let me give you another quote:
“What are we to do? Someday our descendants will describe our several generations as generations of driveling do-nothings. First we submissively allowed ‘them’ to massacre us by the millions and then with devoted concern we tended the murderers in their prosperous old age.” Sounds like America to me.
Notice that I put the pronoun, ‘them’ into quotations in the above quote. Who is ‘them’ who massacred millions? Even Solzhenitsyn gets his pronouns switched. It’s NOT ‘them. It is ‘us’. It takes two to tango. One perpetuated Evil and the other one allows it, even became complicit, joins in with the Evil when the opportunity allows, just as Aleksandr did when he was a captain in the army. If not for his own arrest even he could have crossed the threshold of Evil.
I could keep writing for pages but I won’t waste anymore of our time. What I find fascinating about such literature from the past is that the discovery and manifestation of Evil is always the same as it is today. And yet citizens of America are continually seduced by the encroaching darkness, the coming Evil. And it’s no different than it has been since the Garden of Eden. Liberalism and Socialism and Collectivism are always involved in such national disasters. The idea that the collective humanity is smarter than God. The idea that the collective is more valuable than the individual. It’s NOT. That’s the whole point of the American Constitution. Individual human rights are MORE IMPORTANT than the entire nation.
If you cannot see that America is dying and if we cannot see that WE ARE TO BLAME then we deserve what is coming…………joel
