Progressives have won their fight to end American Imperialism & Colonialism. They have long wanted to end America's ability to project its military power around the world.
What better way than allowing 10's of thousands of Americans and their Afghan allies to be murdered by a brutal enemy, causing our allies to not trust us anymore and our enemies not to fear us anymore.
As in all things progressive, the end justifies the means.
