Locomotive 58
Originally built as a work locomotive for the Staten Island Railway, this Locomotive as well as 57 were transferred to the NYCT subway system in 2010, which is why it has blue paint!

A company publicity photo featuring brand new Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe 5001 class "Texas" number 5004 outside the Baldwin Locomotive Works in Eddystone, Pennsylvania. This colossal coal-burning 2-10-4 carried construction number 62156 when she rolled off the factory floor in 1938, part of an order for ten of the class, with the first five being coal burners, and the last five burning oil. Weighing in at over 455 tons and running a high boiler pressure of 310 pounds per square inch, these machines produced an impressive 108,961 pounds of tractive effort that was transferred to the rails through 74" drivers. Notice how much of the undercarriage is gloss black, while the rest of the locomotive has received a flat grey wash to make the details show up better on film.
