Friendly greetings! As a Biblical Theist I here publicly profess faith in Jesus our Messiah, and I appreciate the Protestant Reformation against Catholicism...but the Five Solas are (in my opinion) a good way to expose some problems we Christians must address:
1. Protestants profess Sola Scriptura (yet they routinely IGNORE elements of the Old Testament which Jesus and the disciples obeyed and taught….e.g., Lev. 11).
2. Protestants profess Sola Fide (yet Jas. 2:24 plainly exposes the error of emphasis on FAITH ALONE).
3. Protestants profess Sola Gratia (yet Ex. 33:13 plainly confirms the proper response to saving grace is to seek to obey God’s WAYS…yet Protestants routinely disobey and oppose some of those very ways…e.g., Lev. 11).
4. Protestants profess Solus Christus, but they disregard and oppose some basic teachings (e.g., Lev. 11) of that very Christ.
5. Protestants profess Soli Deo Gloria, but glorification of God is NOT the only Biblical objective pertaining to “glory”…(see Rom. 2:10; 8:30; Ps. 8:5; Eph. 5:27; Is. 62:2).
CONCLUSION: The Protestant Reformation was a good move in the right direction…but we need MORE reformation so as to return to truly authentic Biblical faith and practice.
Well ok…what do you all think?
blessings…
