It took Abraham Lincoln, the REPUBLICAN Party, the American Civil War, the death of thousands of American Citizens, the Emaciation Proclamation, Constitutional Amendments, and 150+ years to free folks and afford everyone the opportunity for a better, a greater way of life. Was there still work that needed to be done? Of course, and progress was being made, though many refused to believe it because they only believe what they are told to believe by MSM. Will we (or any country) ever be a "perfect union?" Probably not, but our founding fathers knew we could be a "more perfect union" than the one from which we emerged.
Now, for the promise of free stuff (healthcare, college tuition, etc.), they have sold all of us back into the shackles of bondage. They have elected to forego our rights of free speech, freedom of religion and the right to protect ourselves.
I've seen the meme "You can vote your way into Socialism / Communism," but you'll have to shoot your way out.
What will the price of freedom be next time?
