" You are the one that elected the corrupt politicians so it is your duty to hold them accountable. Peacefully but loudly demand accountable with a megaphone if you have to".

Although this person is on track, I feel it's not this simple.

My reply:
That is the issue so blatantly exposed during this previous presidential election; our votes do not count.

The pen is mightier than the sword ... our opinions are not allowed on social platforms, nor our voices allowed in the reality show called mass media. What good is an email sent to a politician when they want to reeducate those who oppose them? What good is contacting anyone from the media when they silence our views, or worse yet, spin us into some kind of demented conspiracy theory maniac?
Megaphones, protests, holding someone with no morals accountable ... sounds like a good way to get a name listed as 'domestic terrorist'.

And there in lies another matter, many of us have to work for a living. We do not have the luxury of free time like those terrorizing the cities. When things get bad enough and we, the people who work to keep this country running, no longer have jobs ... things are going to get ugly.

Until this last election, I have often said:

If you don't vote than you don't have a right to bitch.

I've always stood by that statement and it's gotten me in trouble with more than one person. Now I find out our votes don't really count.

Guess I'm the fool.
