Tiananmen Square Massacre: Black Night In June (2019)
This new film by Arthur Kent recounts the June 4, 1989 assault by the People’s Liberation Army on pro-democracy demonstrators in Beijing’s Tiananmen Square.
Consisting entirely of footage recorded by Kent during the massacre, restored in 4K UHD video, the film follows student protesters as they resist the army’s advance.
Featured are the voices and words of the students, and the chilling megaphone decrees of the Communist Party’s martial law authority: leave the square now or suffer the consequences.
