Sorry for the glare in the picture. The white image is an error. This is a picture of a Peace Dove from around 1862 found in the Huntsville, Al. Train Depot. Confederate POWs were locked up in this room on the third floor after their capture by Union General Mitchell’s troops. I just love that even more than two hundred years ago in the midst of a war that was tearing our nation apart their were troops earnestly hoping for peace. I hope our nation will rejoice in those things we have in common and end the divisive Identity Politics games being pushed by politicians.
