1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
If you want to believe that you continue to have sin after The Law of The Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has completely destroyed and removed the nature of sin from the seed of Adam, then you might not be looking at the entirety of this chapter in total context of who and what Apostle John was dealing with.
When viewing this chapter in comparison to other relevant writings by John, Paul and Peter it's quite easy to see that John was not dealing with Christians who had sinned but with sinners who claimed to be walking in The Light, those who claimed to have fellowship with God but were actually lying and not doing The Truth. Dealing with those who were continuing to live in the darkness of spiritual death and making false claims that they had no sin.
Those who needed to confess their sin and be cleansed from all unrighteousness. Those who still had sin. There are some people who will never move away from the traditional teaching of believers continuing to have sin regardless of what The Precious Blood of Jesus has already accomplished by cleansing them from all unrighteousness.
Don't be too concerned. Just stay with The Revelation of The Living Word according to The Mind of The Spirit and keep holding to The Truth. There is a New Nature in you that is completely without sin. "Pray in the Holy Ghost"
