The rules for the game are the same as wordle today. You can only use real words in your guesses and in your result.
If you find the right letter and form it correctly, the square turns green.
However, the square can turn yellow if the guessed word is missing the correct letter. In order to aid elimination, letters that aren't correct turn grey.

"It's amazing to see this game bring so much joy and I am so grateful for your personal stories. Wordle has helped to unify distant family members as well as provoking friendly rivalries. It also supported medical recovery.
"On the other hand, I'd be lying and say this hasn’t was overwhelming.
