Nick is my senior high school sweetheart! Both Nick and I were lifeguards at Farmington city pool when I was 15 and he was 16. We began as friends, then got closer during the summers at the pool. Over time we started spending additional time together beyond our summer jobs and finally started dating in senior high school. We fell in love and dated throughout college. After years of loving one another, depending on one another, and supporting one another, we knew we desired to spend the remainder of our lives together! I knew he was the main one when considered living my entire life without him creating a heavy, sinking hole in my chest; the considered building a life along with a family with him fills me with so much joy I could burst!
I act as an ICU nurse and frequently have to work night shifts. One day, while I was sleeping following a hectic night shift, Nick snuck away from home to have my diamond engagement ring custom ordered through Rocky Mountain Diamond. He am excited about the ring he woke me up and explained he had ordered it—he couldn’t keep a secret from me if his life had been dependent on it! I cried and cried the sweetest tears.
A couple of weeks later, once the ring was prepared to be acquired, he brought me along for many “errands”. I had no idea where I was going. He left me in a car, parked facing the entrance towards the jewelry store, next to the post office. I thought he only agreed to be going inside the mailbox, but he returned having a black gift bag with “Rocky Mountain Diamond” etched in gold. Neither of us desired to wait, therefore we drove to some trail at a high altitude near his parent’s home, and that he proposed through the river in Farmington Canyon. I don’t recall the words he explained as he inquired about being his wife because I was crying way too hard to hear him!
We wanted something easy and elegant. We both loved flowers, so a greenhouse wedding was the most obvious choice! I knew I wanted my dress to become floral and romantic, and we knew a black tuxedo along with a black bowtie for him could be so classic and excellent.
Be prepared to try on dresses or boho wedding dress you normally may not! I shopped feeltimes on the internet and thought I knew exactly which dress I wanted. I made the very first appointment I could to test it, convinced that I would like it and bring it home on that day. Well, I tried on that dress I had been taking a look at online for weeks, and I felt disappointed. It wasn’t precisely what I had dreamed it could be. I tried on another dress, something just a little fuller and much more classic, and I immediately fell in love. It wasn’t an outfit I would have originally thought could be the look I wanted, however, it was SO much better than the main one I THOUGHT I wanted! So, brides, put on every silhouette to become SURE you’ve found your dress!
