Do you have a Wear OS smartwatch? Do you often change your smartphone?

Do you have a Wear OS smartwatch? Do you often change your smartphone? If the answer is twice yes , then you have surely experienced firsthand how annoying it is to have to perform a factory reset of the wearable device every time you want to connect it to your new smartphone. Until now this has been the only way to make the switch (a trick has actually been around for some time, but it is not official – see VIA), but there is an important change coming .

The novelty is hidden in the code strings of the 22.32.12 version of Google Play Services beta – the same that revealed the first features of the Fitbit smartwatch based on the Wear OS operating system – and concerns the (next) possibility of making a backup of the smartwatch data before switching to the new smartphone.

This is the string that gives us the indications in this sense:

Wear OS

In short, nothing exceptional, but simply a more streamlined way to make the transition from one smartphone to another without having to format your Wear OS smartwatch every time. You save time and you are sure that all data will not be lost, transferring it in full through a quick backup.

XDA, responsible for the teardown of the APK of the Google Play Services beta, however, says that the release of the feature may still be a little way off. The important thing, however, is that the Mountain View company has started working on it.
