The number of narrations of the Noble Qur’an
The number of reciters whose readings of the Noble Qur’an were transmitted by way of tawatur, and the nation received them with acceptance, reached ten, and each narrator of them had two narrators who were famous for their narration from him, and the following is a statement of these ten reciters with their narrators:
Nafi’ bin Abdul Rahman bin Abi Naim Al-Madani: It was said in his nickname Abu Ruwaim, and it was said Abu Abd al-Rahman, and it was said Abu al-Hasan, and it was said Abu Abdullah, whose origin goes back to Isfahan, he was the imam of the reciters in Medina, and Qalon narrated from him; He is Issa bin Mina Al-Madani, who was teaching Arabic in Medina, and he was nicknamed “Baqaloon” because he was good at reading and was fluent in it; As Qalon in the Roman language means good, as was narrated by Warsh; And he is Othman bin Saeed Al-Masry, and it was said that he was called Porsche because of the intensity of his whiteness, or because he ate very little food.
Ibn Katheer al-Makki: His name is Abdullah ibn Kathir ibn al-Muttalib al-Makki, nicknamed Abu Ma’bad, and he is from the second class of the followers. Al-Bazzi narrated from him; He is Ahmed bin Muhammad bin Abi Baza, who was the muezzin in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, as was narrated by Ibn Falih; He is Abd al-Wahhab bin Falih al-Makki.
Abu Amr Al-Basri: He is Abu Amr bin Al-Ala bin Ammar bin Abdullah bin Al-Husayn bin Al-Harith bin Jalham bin Khuza’i bin Mazen bin Malik bin Amr bin Tamim. Shuja’ bin Abi Nasr Al-Khorasani narrated from him, and he was trustworthy and reliable.
Ibn Amer al-Shami: He is Abdullah bin Amer al-Yahsabi, his nickname is Abu Imran. He took over the judiciary in Damascus during the caliphate of al-Walid ibn Abd al-Malik. He met a group of companions and narrated from them; Among them are Muawiyah bin Abi Sufyan, Abu Al-Darda', Fadalah bin Obaid, Al-Nu'man bin Bashir and others. It was narrated from him by Al-Waleed bin Utbah, and Abdul Hamid bin Bakkar Al-Dimashqi.
Asim Al-Kufi: He is Asim bin Abi Al-Nujud, his nickname is Abu Bakr. He met a group of companions and narrated from them, as was narrated by a number of followers, and Hafs bin Suleiman Al-Kufi narrated from him, and he was the most trustworthy person who taught people to read Asim, as Al-Mufaddal bin Muhammad Al-Kufi narrated from him.
Hamza Al-Kufi: He is Hamza bin Habib bin Ammarah bin Ismail Al-Zayat, narrated by Khalaf bin Hisham Al-Bazzar and Khallad bin Khaled Al-Sayrafi.
Al-Kisa’i Al-Kufi: He is Ali bin Hamza Al-Nahwi, his nickname is Abu Al-Hassan, narrated by Hafs bin Omar Al-Douri, and Al-Layth bin Khalaf Al-Baghdadi.
Yazid bin Al-Qaqa’: His nickname is Abu Jaafar, narrated by Isa bin Wardan Al-Madani, and Suleiman bin Jammaz.
Yaqoub bin Ishaq Al-Hadrami Al-Basri: Narrated by Ruwais Muhammad bin Al-Mutawakkil Al-Lu’ali, and Rawh bin Abdul-Mumin Al-Basri.
Khalaf bin Hisham Al-Bazzar Al-Baghdadi: Narrated by Ishaq bin Ibrahim Al-Warraq, and Idris bin Abdul Karim Al-Haddad
