A few of these titles were anticipated back in 2022, but their release was delayed. Nonetheless, after a few years of adjusting to a new console generation and development challenges brought on by the pandemic, it appears that current-gen will finally hit its stride in 2023, despite the fact that one of the most anticipated games of the year will be exclusive to the underpowered Switch.
Tanuki Sunset
A really awesome third-person longboard skating game is called tanuki sunset. Tanuki, the raccoon, will be under your control as he skateboards through the dusk on twisty roads. Tanuki must perform all jumps and drifts in order to avoid obstacles and gather things in order to score points. Your roulette meter will fill up as you earn points, allowing you to spin for more bonus points. So keep in mind to strive to accrue as many points as you can.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
A direct sequel to, if not the greatest game of all time, at least the generation? The upcoming installment of The Legend of Zelda is expected to expand upon the innovative sandbox open world of Breath of the Wild's Hyrule by literally creating an entirely new world in the sky.
Aside from a few cryptic teasers that provide glimpses of Link's new tools, including what appears to be a method for reversing time, we don't know much about this game. Could the subtitle be a reference to tears as an important collectible, a hint at the return of traditional dungeons, or something entirely different? Moreover, can the underpowered Switch handle the task?
If Nintendo reveals a new Switch successor in 2023, Tears of the Kingdom will ensure that the Switch, the company's most successful console since the Wii, will go out on a high note.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
Marvel's Spider-Man is one of the most popular PlayStation exclusives based on one of the most popular superheroes, so a sequel is a no-brainer. Following the success of the Miles Morales expansion, it only makes sense that you'll be able to play as both Peter Parker and Miles' versions of the web-slinger as they face off against new foes Kraven the Hunter and fan favorite Venom.
We're hoping for a more interesting twist on the open-world formula to complement the already-awesome sensation of swinging through the city. With the June release of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, 2018 is shaping up to be a great year to be Spider-Man.
