Why Are Core Values So Important

I am attempting to reach out and show why we must have Core Values and what they mean to us.

Why Are Core Values So Important?
Core values are the deeply ingrained principles that guide us in all of our daily actions; they serve as cultural cornerstones. They teach us discipline. There are so many that I refuse to name all of them. I want people to read what I write and not get bored. I will however name a good many and share my thoughts on some of them.
Commitment - finish what you start. In the days of my youth, my word was my bond. If I committed myself to something then I did my best to get it done.
Compassion and concern for others.
Dependability - this goes hand and hand with Commitment as does Reliability.
Honesty - goes along with being Dependable.
Each of us should be aware that if we agree to take on a task-any task-for whatever reason we need to show that we can be trusted to do the project the very best possible and stick with it until it is done.
Stay Calm even if we run into problems doing whatever. If something does go wrong, admit to it and not attempt to place it on someone else-be Accountable for your own actions.
Cooperation-we all have ideas on how something should be done and that’s fine should you be working alone but if placed with others we may need to listen to the ideas of others while sharing our own. One should strive to be Adaptable. Being Flexible can be a good thing.
Honesty-aspies trust from others. Do not agree with someone on a subject unless you agree with what they are saying or doing. Acceptance of someone should not cost you your Moral Values. Never take on a project if you haven’t a clue to what you are doing. There are exceptions to every rule and this one has an exception. Just because you have never done something doesn’t mean you can’t do something. Have the Courage and the Enthusiasm to do something new and exciting, be Adventurous.
As a parent of four grown, Independent, Positive, Respectful, Loyal, and open-minded adults I know-I can sincerely say that the cornerstones or building blocks-Core Values started at home with their parents. In an age of high-tech, parents forget their role as parents. Parents rely too heavily on teachers and others to do their job. Far too many of our youth are building weak Core Values and they are learning them on the streets which is the last place they should be getting their Education. You decide to bring a child into this world so have Faith in yourself and step up the Challenges of parenthood.
As we grow older and our life takes shape we find ourselves out of school and into the workplace. The Core Values that we learned along the way have sculptured us into Confident, Free Spirited individual who believes in Justice and Tolerance toward others. To get ahead one must be Competitive, a goal-setter, and never be afraid to reach for the stars. The only person putting limits on you is you yourself. We live in a country where the sky is the limit. There is nothing that you can not do once you have set your mind to it. In that high-tech I spoke of there are those who will attempt to tear you down to their miserable level by telling you that you aren’t worth anything-don’t believe it, you are! They will attempt to make you believe that you owe someone else for what you have worked and earned-don’t believe it, it’s a lie.
I will close this out with one last ‘Core Value’ which I feel is very important-Patriotism. Patriotism is a sense of pride and a feeling of love or devotion towards one’s country. This is a powerful trait that humbles and unites all citizens of our great nation. Something many of us are feeling is dying a slow death due to our government, leaders from around the world, and social media. Support those in government who support ‘We The People’. Patriotism isn’t just an individual emotion, it can also be collective. Take the time to engage with your friends and neighbors to create a sense of Community. “E Pluribus Unum” means “one out of many” and symbolizes the union of many different people to form one national community. Embrace the diversity of your neighbors and build relationships that focus on togetherness. “WWG1WGA”.
