The Devil knows what he is doing. When you restrict free speech, you restrict freedom of religion. Read the First Amendment and diagram the first (and only) sentence. Freedom of speech is fundamental to freedom of religion.

Me? I’ll stick with the pre-Augustine/pre-Catholic view of the early church leaders: Pre-Millennialism. Augustine introduced amillennialism in Book 22 of The City of God (De civitate Dei contra paganos), written about 413–426 AD. The nascent Roman Catholic Church then promoted amillennialism and persecuted those who held to the original premillennial views as heretics.
