Wouldn't it make more sense to advise the at risk population to self-isolate and protect themselves, while allowing the rest of the population to keep the economy running with their freedoms intact? Instead of providing support to people the government has locked inside their homes, they could more efficiently offer the at risk population support if they can't get the things they need.

COVID-19. Liberal solutions? Shut down the economy, schools, and public events, force isolation of the entire population, and provide nanny "support" to those in forced quarantine who may have come in contact with an infected person. Consider the cost.

It is well-known that the majority of deaths due to COVID-19 have been at risk populations. Those over the age of 70 and people with compromised immune systems. If you subtract the at risk population deaths, the threat COVID-19 poses to the public is very minimal. Comparable to influenza.

Instead of shutting down churches, churches could have been providing that support to the at risk population this whole time. Instead of shutting down the working economy and forcing millions out of work, the economy could have better aided and supported efforts to protect the at risk population, rather than shutting it all down and making the problems worse across the board.
