The Republican platform included calling for the end to the Korean War, firing "the loafers, incompetents and unnecessary employees" at the State Department, supporting the Taft–Hartley Act, and opposing "discrimination against race, religion or national origin", and supporting a "Federal action toward the elimination of lynching"
