PRAYER FOR MAIL-IN BALLOTS
In Israel, we vote in the American elections by absentee voting. It is serious way to vote. Writing in for the form. Filling out a lengthy paper with all kinds of identification. Waiting for a reply that Ari and I have been authorized to vote. And then voting and sending it in by email or by snail mail. It is a very secure method of voting.
This is not universal voting by mail in which a state government sends a blank form to every name and address they have that supposedly has the right to vote. Republicans are concerned for these reasons:
A massive mail-in voting will result in enormous delays in the election results.
1. It will take longer to tabulate the results of the election, particularly close races. If some states are organized, others will be in chaos.
2. It took N.Y. one month to count their mail-in ballots in a recent local election.
3. If all votes have not been counted by Jan 20, 2021 because of delays in counting mailed ballots, or contested counts, Congress “may by law provide…who shall then act as President.
4. Congress has provided that the speaker of the House shall act as president until a president or vice president has been determined.
5. In 2016, 130 million Americans voted. That means the Post Office would have to handle an extra 260 million pieces of mail to the voter with a return envelope over a period of a few weeks. (Chaos)
Of course, voters at risk from the pandemic should vote by mail. However, their votes are less likely to be counted, more likely to be compromised or contested. They are most vulnerable to being altered, stolen or forged (unless you request an absentee ballot.)
1. Paterson, New Jersey, a recent municipal election was conducted entirely by mail.
2. Four Paterson residents charged with criminal election fraud.
3. Many voters said they never received the forms – even though they were counted as voting.
4. In Paterson and in N.Y, 1 out of 5 mail-in ballots were rejected – usually because a person missed filling out all the blanks.
5. Many mail-ins were processed by the Post Office without postmarks, making them invalid.
Without considering which political party would benefit or be hurt, let us pray for JUSTICE.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come to you in humility, knowing how perfect and holy You are, and how imperfect we are. We ask You to cleanse us and our thoughts. Clothe us with righteousness. We come to you, made clean by the blood of our beloved Yeshua.
We want to pray about the coming election. You knew this corona plague was going to hit the world before the American national election for the White House, the House and Senate. You have the answer as to how to conduct a clean, non-compromised election.
We are praying first of all that Your people will rise up and win the battle for voting in God-fearing men and women to fill the halls of government. You know the choice we have been given – between socialism, Marxism, pro-abortion, pro-LGBTQ and politicians who would create a nanny state and take away religious freedom – versus – President Trump who is fighting for freedom of faith and worship, fighting for family values, fighting to keep citizen safe from violence, fighting to give every person the chance to fulfill his or her dreams.
Lord, we know every single person is loved by You. You hate the oppression of human beings. You hate slavery, injustice, violence, prejudice and theft.
We are asking You that You would send Your Angelic Host to bring blessing and purpose to the people of the United in this hour of great need and during this election.
We pray that You would look down with favor on the system of democracy which has made this country what it is. We pray that You would protect the ballot boxes. You would prepare a method to keep the mail-in ballots from fraud and poor administration.
We pray that the use of the mail-in-ballots will not bring chaos to America’s electoral system.
We pray that there would be many states that encouraged their people to come to vote in person in their polling places. We pray that those places will be organized so that voters will be safe from the coronavirus and also violence of criminal activists.
So, our wonderful God, we need You in this hour to pour out a blessing on this nation that You love. Forgive us our own trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation. Deliverer us from evil. Give this nation another chance, we pray.
In Yeshua’s wonderful Name. It is through You Yeshua that we have our hope and our future. Amen.
