I'm sharing this from a man named Ed Stiles: Yesterday I attended a Lions Club District Convention that was held near Bay City, Texas. The guest speaker was the Sheriff of Jackson County, TX. He spoke about "Border Security".
When he began his speech, the first thing that he said was that what he was going to say was not about "R's" or "D's" (Republicans or Democrats). He wanted everyone to know that he was not going to be political, just 100% truthful about what is happening on our Southern border and how that is affecting our country.
FOLKS, THAT SHERIFF MADE IT CRYSTAL CLEAR THAT IF WE (OUR CONGRESS) DON'T DO SOMETHING ABOUT FIXING OUR OUTDATED IMMIGRATION SYSTEM - AND FAST - THAT WE WILL LOSE THE COUNTRY AND STATE THAT WE HAVE GROWN UP IN. He said "Yes, there absolutely IS a crisis at the border", whether people want to admit it or not. And there are MANY Democrats who know it's a crisis but intentionally turn a blind eye to it for political reasons.
During a Q & A, I asked him a question about how many liberal (Democrat) politicians from states that are far from the Southern border come down here and actually see what's going on. He said "MANY of them, and they go back to Washington and intentionally do nothing about it". They WANT the flow of illegals into our country!
He said the flow of literally tons drugs into our country is devastating. Someone asked him what percent of drugs are actually stopped by authorities at the border. He said that is estimated to be less than 3%. OVER 97% OF THE DRUGS THAT REACH OUR BORDER ARE NOT STOPPED, FOLKS!
He went on to say that there are 10 cartels in Mexico and they pretty much own and run that country. He said they are well-funded (having MANY BILLIONS of dollars), very intelligent, well-organized, and well-staffed. He said that almost anyone can be bought off by the cartels in Mexico, and those that refuse are killed or their families threatened with being killed.
He said that in Arizona, at the top of every hill there are cartel observers using sophisticated equipment to look for places to direct illegal activity without being caught. He said the cartels can use their vast supply of money to purchase any type of high-tech equipment available in the world today.
He said that the State of Texas will spend about $800,000,000 on border security in 2019 alone. That's our TEXAS TAX MONEY, not Federal tax money. We're paying that out of OUR pockets, fellow Texans! That's over and above what the Feds are spending on security.
He mentioned President Trump's suggestion that illegals be transported to sanctuary cities. He said that sounds like a great idea to him! Texas already has more than we can handle. He said that Federal immigration laws MUST be changed, since anyone from a Central American country can enter the US (illegally), ask for asylum, and that by law we MUST grant them asylum until they have a court hearing,. They are then released into the country, and over 90% are never seen again.
He said that a majority of those seeking asylum are men bringing children across the border. That is NOT how society in Central America works, There, women take care of the children, not the men! Those "asylum seekers" are men using the children only to get into the country! And they are not trying to get away from violence, they are coming for economic reasons, which is NOT a legal reason for asylum!
There was a retired Border Patrol agent in attendance at the meeting yesterday, and he said that the words of the Sheriff are not only true but also that they only are a small indication of just how bad things are on our border.
Folks, we MUST take Congress back in 2020 if we want to have a fighting chance to keep our country. If the Democrats remain in control of either the US House of Representatives or the Senate, then we are literally DOOMED as a country!
