Regarding Voting.

We all know people who do not vote. Not ever. It doesn't matter if it's a Presidential election, a local election, a special election. They just do not and will not vote.

Great. This is the USA. That is their choice and their right.

However, here are some hard cold facts. It isn't directed as an insult, a slight or a nasty accusation. Just. Plain. Facts.

Like anything in life, you do not always get to make a choice between something you like and something you don't like. Sometimes you only have two choices and you don't particularly like either one. So, your only choice is to pick the least distasteful of the two. Fortunately, when it comes to political voting, you DO have a third option, called the Write-In vote. Hell, you can even put your own name in, and at least you did participate in the process. So, if you don't like the official candidates you still have no excuse.

If you have chosen to not vote, for anything, even when laws or local policies are put on the ballot, you really have no right to complain if you do not like the turn out of the results. You chose to not take the time to voice your opinion through the voting process. You chose to not participate in the process of bringing about the changes you claim to want. Just think, your ONE vote could have been the deciding factor, so remember that when you complain about a law you disagree with, but didn't bother to vote against.

Some people will say that they do not want to be responsible for helping to put a bad politician in office. However, your ONE vote not being cast could very well have been the one that would have kept a bad politician out. So, either way you look at it, your decision to NOT vote has still helped to put in someone you consider a "bad" choice.

Saying you do not "want to be responsible" is also saying that you do not want to be responsible for the future of yourself, your children or your grandchildren. It is not worth your time to be bothered with how the future might turn out. So, again, if you don't like the outcome and how the future ends up, remember, you didn't even step up and do your part to try and change or guide it. It's such a simple and easy process that takes so little time, especially when it impacts the future for your own loved ones.

By not voting you are saying..."I don't care," so if that is the case, you should also "not care" about the voting results or outcome.

In my family, while growing up, we would sometimes vote on things like..."Do we want Taco Bell or Pizza Hut tonight?" If one of us didn't bother to vote, the response was... "Then you take what you are given and don't complain about it." You know why? Because even a losing vote is still a vote and at least you participated in the process.

Pretty simple logic.

When we say that you have no right to complain when you chose to not vote, it isn't being mean, it's just being factual and logical.
