Satan is even able to cause people to twist Scripture at times to try and justify martial arts (according to 2 Pet. 3:16). For example, there are many who have tried to use Luke 22:36-38—the passage where the disciples said they had “two swords” and Jesus said, “It is enough”—as a proof text that Jesus condoned martial arts. But notice that Jesus Himself said to Peter when he tried to defend Jesus in Matthew 26:52, “Put your sword back into its place, for all those who take up the sword shall perish by the sword.” The inference we can draw from what Jesus said, is that the sword, or physical weapons used in the natural in physical and natural warfare, has “its place,” though that is another matter entirely that is beyond the scope of this book. But the believer who is submitted to God, walking by faith, and trusting in Christ will fight using “the weapons of our warfare,” which are spiritual weapons to vanquish a spiritual enemy on the battleground in the (invisible) spirit realm, for “the LORD does not deliver by sword or by spear; for the battle is the LORD’S and He will give (the enemy) into our hands” (1 Sam. 17:47).

Those Christians who are well equipped and knowledgeable regarding how to use our powerful spiritual weapons in spiritual warfare, can “walk by faith” (2 Cor. 5:7) with a firm reliance on Christ rather than physical weapons and fighting skills such as those taught in martial arts to protect and preserve them!-Excerpt from https://www.spiritlifemag.com/....exposing-the-dangers
