Remembering 9/11/2001
As I sit in my living room after an exhausting and smoke filled week I am reflecting on a word that comes to my mind often these days. “Perspective.”
I realize I am surrounded by heroes that themselves go to work every day doing tasks that keep our society a cohesive entity. I’m referring to our magnificent men and women of the “Thin Blue Line.” I’m referring to our brave men and women of “The Thin Red Line.” I’m referring to those men and woman who nurse us back to health in the medical profession.
I now add to the list “Wildfire Warriors.” There are over one million acres ablaze in Oregon alone. Half a million displaced in some fashion including those in my family. Here in the Willamette Valley we would be lost without these brave men and women. Without them on the frontline of hell we would cease to have a society which we call civilization.
Perspective...just reflect on this and let it sink in...
We would cease to exist without the tireless and often thankless efforts of these everyday heroes.
The terrorist attacks of 9/11/2001 were the same civilization shattering events. First responders running into not away from danger. Yet, there they were. Men and women, our first responders doing what they do. Actually, most of us don’t even know what they do.
This day, this week as I breath smoke filled air and type these words I proudly stand with all the above. I will not take a knee for any man, cause or movement that denigrate in any way those that selflessly serve.
Those that wish to defund, denigrate, spit upon or kill these heroes do nothing more than awake the sleeping giant called America. We awaken to a resolve of Law and Order and a heightened respected for The United States Constitution. We are awakened to movements which are nothing more than Satanic foreplay for destruction of all we hold dear.
I remember, yes revere our fallen. I remember 9/11/2001 like it was yesterday. There will be a special place in hell for those terrorist of that day. There will be a special place in hell for those that have deliberately set fires to this beloved Northwestern part of my world.
I will wait for God to exact vengeance but, I will NEVER forget. I will NEVER take knee.
God Bless our First Responders.
