I am an Appalachia white trash by birth and proud of my lineage.
I saw first hand that blacks were mistreated for decades. Equal but separate water fountains, restaurants, back of the bus & train, etc.
But, we carried our water from a mountain spring, not from a fountain or indoor plumbing, couldn't afford a restaurant, bus, or train fare. Peed in a stinky fly-infested outhouse. One pair of shoes/yr, two pants, shirts made from feed sacks, and took a bath in a washtub. Moved to Detroit where I was called a cracker, honkey, dumb hillbilly, beaten up, robbed & bullied by blacks just because I was white.
Don't preach to me about white privilege when it is an income privilege. I had to go to school, say no to drugs, alcohol, and permissive girls wanting to get pregnant. I had to work hard six days a week to stay off the poverty and welfare list.
