I think one has to be careful when applying Romans 13 properly to the roll a Christian has in dealing with government. Remember our founding fathers set up this country with the premise that we the people are the authority in this government. That government officials are subject to people, not the other way around. They detested tyranny and applied biblical principles in that when the government ceases to promote good and restrain evil, and when the government itself promotes evil, the people have a responsibility to dispose of that government. If you doubt that, then you should re-read the Declaration of Independence.
