November 16, 2020, God Blesses Those Who Mourns
Lord, when I was only 12 years old, I experienced the greatest pains in my life. September 26, 1961. That was the day my oldest brother died in a car accident. I know, Lord, you were there that day and every day of my life. Lord, you know it took me almost four years to get over that, and my heart turned to solid ice. It was not until the death of my Father-in-law that I was able to understand your comfort for those left behind entirely. I truly know how much you love me and have been such a blessing to me. Thank you, Father, for the living water you have bathed me in over the years. You genuinely care about me. I do thank you and praise you for how you love me and listen to me every day. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
Matthew 5:4 (NLT) God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Isaiah 66:13 (NLT) I will comfort you there in Jerusalem as a mother comforts her child." Psalms 34:18 (NLT) The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. Revelation 7:17 (NLT) For the Lamb on the throne will be their Shepherd. He will lead them to springs of life-giving water. And God will wipe every tear from their eyes."
