In regard to the Ga. Senate runoffs, I have to say I'm more than a little intrigued when I see a minister state his support for abortion. In response to a question posed to him on how a Christian minister could be pro abortion, Reverend Raphael Warnock replied "“I think that human agency and freedom is consistent with my view as a minister.” On November 17th, Warnock's twitter account posted this message: "I will always fight for reproductive justice."
That leads me to a question. What else does the good minister see as "justice"?
In February of 2019 during his second State Of the Union Address, president Donald Trump said that as a nation we need to "reaffirm a fundamental truth: All children, born and unborn, are made in the holy image of God." In response, former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams replied on twitter posting "America achieved a measure of reproductive justice in Roe V. Wade".
I find it at odds with the message of the bible that "justice" could be interpreted by Reverend Warnock and Stacey Abrams as the intentional killing of an unborn child.
Justice is a term being used frequently today by politicians and clergy. The issue is that this is another case where people are using a similar vocabulary but not the same dictionary. When politicians or even clergy start talking about "reproductive justice" or "social justice" , we need to find out exactly what they are talking about. This Senate runoff is not a referendum on Donald Trump, in my opinion. It is a defining moment for the future of our country spiritually. Christians need to treat it that way.
