I like this site and am joining it. However, with the paid subscription requirement for full features, it will never overtake facebook. Facebook had a good competitor years ago called "Classmates.com" which I also joined before facebook ever surfaced. Classmates had a very good head start over facebook and allowed me to reconnect with old high school friends from the 1960's. When facebook surfaced, it offered little over classmates early on, other than the fact that all features were completely free of subscription fees. Over time, EVERYONE I had connected with on Classmates eventually moved to facebook and cancelled their classmates subscriptions, including me. If you could make this site a free full featured site, you could very much have a great shot at becoming the "Facebook alternative." Short of that, I doubt it and you will be destined to always be the "second tier" of social media rather than the leader.
