KOOTENAI COUNTY DIVE RESCUE TEAM RESPONDS TO CAR IN THE WATER
Hayden, Idaho: On December 14th at around 7:45 pm, Central Dispatch received a call of a vehicle in Hayden Lake at the Honeysuckle Boat Launch. The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office, Northern lake Fire and Rescue, as well as the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office Dive Rescue Team responded to the scene.
Dive members as well as fire personnel entered into the water and ended up locating a female in the vehicle. The female was removed from the vehicle and medical personnel immediately started life saving measures. The female was identified as April D. Heath, a 39 year old female from Spirit Lake. She was transported to Kootenai Health where she is being treated for life threatening injuries.
The vehicle and the area around the vehicle was searched and no other people were located.
At this time it is unknown why the female drove into the water. Based on evidence in the vehicle it appears alcohol was possibly a factor in the accident. More information will be released when it becomes available.
