As I have said since my first days here, I came here looking for Facebook alternatives. At this point, it appears the Facebook exodus is now happening en masse.

I haven't been using this site much lately because work keeps me very busy but I plan on using it a lot more and signing up for the various other alternative networks as well. Here is how that is going:

Tonight I tried to sign up for Gab, as it has had a recent burst in activity and people speak highly of it these days. It has so much new activity that I could not get my sign up request processed. It kept giving me errors including "Server is down for maintenance" and similar wording. Gab was obviously not designed for the level of traffic it is now getting. Breitbart had an article about that: https://www.breitbart.com/tech..../2021/01/09/free-spe

I have also had friends recommend a list of others and I will be taking a look at those one by one.

One problem that concerns me, Both Parler and Gab have clauses in their terms of service saying they want the rights to your content. It's the key reason I haven't signed up for Parler but that should raise concerns for anyone looking at any of these services. I'll keep you posted on how that goes as new information becomes available.

I also Promote USA.life to anyone in a similar situation to my own. I have gotten a few to come here so far. This site has a lot of potential.
