My understanding of the human face is that in all of creation it is the only face capable of expressing a wide range of emotion. It communicates. It identifies us as human. A blindfold, for example, or a sack over the entire head, makes it easier for, say, a kidnapper, to then become a murderer. And now we are required increasingly to cover a crucial part of facial expression, the mouth (and nose), along with being required to keep our distance from one another. By increments, we become less human to one another. So then I wonder, will our elected officials and bureaucratic elite next find cause for forced protective eyewear to screen out light in every possible walk of life? Would the windows to the soul then be rendered as unreadable as the mouth has become? And what after that? Should we then suspect nothing but the good will of a benevolent government? Surely, no dark agenda should be suspected...
