Professed Christians in America have been adopting the customs of the world for so long that it’s impossible to tell the difference between the church and the world today. Professed believers go to the same public schools and universities as unbelievers, join the same sports and fitness clubs as unbelievers, pursue the same dreams of success as unbelievers, buy the same big houses, seek the same status as prominent unbelievers, buy the same clothes as unbelievers, work in the same businesses and offices, use the same worldy weapons as unbelievers, have the same celebrity idols as unbelievers,and on and on. Professed believers might go to “church’ services on Sundays which are scheduled around football games, but they come out even readier to follow the world.
Nothing about the above is of the Spirit; it’s of the flesh. It’s what the OT Jews did; wanting to be like the people around them(for which God punished them.) This worldly lifestyle makes true believers look like freaks to them since true believers don't conform to the pattern of the world. (Rom. 12:2). We actually follow the bible, making us separate and distinct from the world, just as the apostles and prophets were.
So true believers will not be welcomed in the American professed church which wants to follow the world putting them on the WIDE to destruction. But as long as they have much company on that road, they’re comfortable...that is, until they die since they wanted the praises of people rather than the praises of God. So they have already received their rewards on earth.
Hosea 9:7, "But your sins are so many and your hostliity so great, the prophet is considered a fool, the wise man a maniac."
