Jesus graciously invites us into his home to encounter the Creator who freely gives to all, be it to break a simple loaf of bread or share a complete banquet with us, all the while knowing all our frailties and faults we find so difficult to manage. He doesn't see those faults but instead, welcomes us in, giving us a cool cloth for our faces, hands and feet to make us sure that we're a part of his family and not just guests. So often we find ourselves seemingly without a friend in a dark, barren land that so easily drains the life out of us, with no relief in sight, where it seems that even the goodness of Heaven has left us. Yet, it is often in the blackest void that we unashamedly cast ourselves upon him and rally ourselves to fly back into his merciful arms, which are there to strengthen and comfort, to again enter his gates to find rest and eat at his table all the good things he's prepared.
