Independent Party of West Virginia Announces Convention Date and Events
The Independent Party of West Virginia (IPWV) announced today the schedule of events for its statewide convention on April 10, 2021. At the convention, the party will consider proposed platform revisions, elect new organizational officers, and discuss strategies for the 2022 and 2024 election cycles.
The IPWV invites all West Virginia voters who are registered “Independent” to attend and to engage in the floor session in which ratification of the revised documents will be discussed. Based upon the party’s success in the 2020 campaign for Governor, the IPWV will provide ballot access to IPWV candidates for any and all elected positions throughout the state. During the event, the party will discuss the nomination process and hear from its members who are interested in running for elected office in 2022 and in 2024.
The IPWV invites all West Virginia voters to consider aligning with the party which is dedicated to upholding the foundational principles of the Declaration of Independence: “that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed…”
Potential Independent voters may register on the West Virginia Secretary of State website via the “Elections” tab where they will find the “Register to Vote” link. Voters may register “Independent” by marking “Other” on question 7 and typing in “Independent.”
Please note that “unaffiliated” indicates that the voter is not a member of any political party, and that “Independent” indicates that the voter is a registered member of the IPWV.
