Years ago, I was told the story of how are family arrived at Ellis Island, we came here to live the dream and be part of a Great Country and escape the hands of Evil Rulers etc.
We were taught to be part, love the land we came to, be part except the ways of the land, (not change it) we had Prejudice against us, Most that arrive here have to over come these things.
Some that came became Slaves, it does not mater what color your skin is, it is what it is, you are not trusted until you adapt to the ways and laws of the country and apply for Citizen ship! And by Golly EARN IT!
It was never handed to anyone!
We never complained about it! We over came it and Moved forward, not looking back, but making sure the next Generation lived a full life and had the chances we had.
