It's just crazy, we've been living in this COVID nightmare for a year and where are we today? Well, let's talk masks. Although Standford U, U Pittsburgh Medical Center, and a number of other highly regarded experts have released studies that masks are inconsequential in the control of the virus, our leaders are guided by the pronouncements of the CDC (and the WHO), which don't seem to be supported by anything (if they were, you can bet we would have CDC reciting chapter & verse of this or that study). But just for the sake of argument, let's accept that masks are useful in controlling the spread. Then, how do they work? Well, our government leaders claim "Science" has determined that masks trap little COVIDs in the fibers of the mask. Great. Then my mask is capturing the little COVIDs. So after a day of trapping little COVIDs, how do I decontaminate my mask? Or, how do I safely dispose of the contaminated mask? Where are the government public service announcements across the media spectrum on how to decontaminate or safely dispose of contaminated masks? Where is the closest safe depository for disposal of contaminated masks in my town? And if the fibers of our masks are capturing the little COVIDs, how about the fibers in our clothes? Have the little COVIDs latched onto the fibers in my shirt or tie or pants or do they only congregate around my nose and mouth? Shouldn't we all have decontamination showers in our garages (sounds like a tax credit in the making) so when we get home from work we can step into the shower, strip, and dispose of our contaminated garments before entering our home -- don't want to bring the little COVIDs inside. But what about the interior of the car? Yuk! I'm all confused. But thankfully, according to our leaders, we have "Science" on the job. Guiding our political leaders, "Science" confirmed, for example, that it's safe to wear a mask and stand six feet apart at the checkout counter of the grocery store, but it's certain death to wear a mask and stand six feet apart at a voting booth -- "Science" says little COVIDs attack voters not shoppers. Good answer (is this Family Feud?), I suspect, but I've not seen that report, have you? Likewise, "Science" has confirmed that it's okay to eat at a restaurant up until 10PM, but after 10PM the COVIDs attack. Who among us plebs knew little COVIDS could tell time? Thank you, "Science," for detecting the diabolical nature of the enemy. I'm feeling much better as we enter Year Two of COVID.
