The US government offers protection to those who have a fear that their government, or someone their government is unable, or unwilling, to control; someone with either the approval, or willful blindness of their government will persecute them on account of their race, nationality, religion, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group. Unless, however, you are a US citizen who belongs to one of those groups in which case you will be harassed, silenced or by other means canceled.
