I have been watching some old-school TV shows from the 50s and 60s, etc. It is surprising and refreshing how much more people spoke of God, and biblical principles even in the cop and detective shows. There was a general respect for and infiltration of godliness in society back then. This is STILL our answer today and in these 'modern times' in which we live.
John Wayne himself, was reading some faith-oriented Christian books before he passed on. One of the ministries which published a book on Biblical physical healing - received a check and card from The Duke himself! $40,000 - back then that may have been more like a quarter to a half mil by today's economy!
People were more like that. Rock Hudson accepted Christ as he was dying. The nurse asked; "Rock are you ready to receive Jesus into your heart?", to which he responded, "Well, I guess that it is about time to" and he did . His last words were, "Don't mourn for me - I have made my peace with God".
