Freedom will never be secure in a quasi-democracy where individuals believe its maintenance is dependent on getting enough people to fill in the bubbles next to the names of the 'right' politicians. Such a system is doomed to failure. If you allow your freedom to be contingent on the will of the majority, you have already admitted defeat.
