For the second time in three weeks, explosions were reported near the US embassy in Baghdad’s fortified Green Zone, followed by sirens. According to another report, mortar fire was directed at the Balad air base in the Sunni region 64 km north of Baghdad, which houses American security contractors. These reports from Iraqi media outlets were not confirmed by US officials in Washington or Baghdad...
