BISHOP’S LETTER OF THANKSGIVING

15 Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. 16 Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me. Isaiah 49:15-16

24 June 2022 A.D.

We have just learned that the US Supreme Court has made their ruling, consistent with the Federal Constitution, to overturn the abortion provisions of Roe v. Wade. We praise God for the courage of the six Justices who dared to make the moral choice for life.
For a number of years those who believe in life as a fundamental right of all people, born and unborn, have held peaceful prayer vigils at Washington, D.C. Their prayers, and ours, have been mercifully granted by a merciful God through the means of the Court that recognizes the right to life proclaimed in the Declaration of Independence and codified by the very provisions of the Federal Constitution.
While the gatherings of those who have promoted life above abortion have been prayerful and peaceful, we observe the great contrast in those who promote abortion and their conduct in demonstrating against life. Some in this group have even threatened the life of the Justices and all others who favor life. Their insults have been filled with vitriol, unseemly accusations and disorderly conduct. It is easy to see the difference in moral values displayed by each side.
We offer this prayer of thanksgiving for the thousands, and millions, of innocent lives that will be saved as a result of this virtuous decision:

Our Almighty and most Merciful Lord God, we praise thy Holy Name in all times and places. We know thou art the Author of life and the grantor of conception. Thou hast blessed mothers over the centuries with children worthy of the love and care of their parents. In these latter days, many millions of the most innocent of young lives have been sacrificed on the altar of convenience and immoral conscience. We thank thee for this return to moral sanity of our US Supreme Court and its adherence to the verbal integrity of the US Constitution. Strengthen us in our purpose to continue the fight for life in all states that may opt to continue this dreadful and merciless practice of abortion of our children. We beseech thee to cause thy Holy spirit to once again move upon the face of the deep of America and draw our hearts and souls ever closer to thy gracious bosom, for it is in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, that we ask it. Amen.

May the Father of Lights and our Lord Jesus Christ be thanked for this just decision.

In Christ during TRINITY,

Jerry L. Ogles, AOC
