According to the Bible, you cannot get to Heaven by being a good person. If I gave you a big, tall glass of cool, clear, clean water.. but then put one drop of raw sewage in it, would you drink it? And why not? 99.9999% of it is pure! True. But that one drop - just that one drop - contaminates the whole thing. Now it’s 100% unclean. So it is with us. God is holy and He cannot tolerate the least sin. We can tolerate a certain amount, but He cannot. But still, He loves us. So He sent His sinless Son to pay the penalty for sin: Death. And if we accept His offer, He will accept us as clean. It’s a gift.. 🎁 “For it is by grace you have been saved.. and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.. not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9) Besides, it’s exhausting trying to be good enough, and never quite sure that it IS enough!
