Sadly, she reluctantly canceled a story hour event that was meant to rival a drag-queen story hour event due to the possibility of violent protests that might have place the safety of any children involved at risk; that reasoning being understandable but if we allow our enemies to use the children as leverage against us, then what is to stop them from using that same leverage to their advantage again and again?
The following item goes on to state that LGBT protesters had also crashed a story hour event run by Kirk Cameron during which one LGBT protester had violently assaulted a child.
[I don’t know about the rest of you and I know I may be saying a hard thing here, but we cannot allow ourselves to be intimidated even by threats issued against children who may be entrusted into our care. What needs to happen is to figure out how to best protect the children in the face of impending possible acts of violence and the ones who ought to be the first line of defense are the parents. Whenever the safety of children is put at risk, rather than retreating, the response to those who would threaten our children should be:
