It’s amazing how powerful the words “Please” and “Thank You” can be!
You never realize it until you’re around someone who never says those simple words.
When you do something for someone, like cook their breakfast, you don’t do it to get paid or win favors. But the words “thank you” surely are a mental and psychological payment.
I know. I have firsthand experience.
I discovered it when I had to prepare food for an elderly relative who never said thanks. And when he wanted something, he never said please. Instead, he just barked, “Give me some of that”.
The result is a bit like getting a splinter in your finger. It’s not a big thing, but tiny as it is, it irritates and creates a sour atmosphere.
Please, never forget to say thank you.
It means a lot.
