One tent has a sign that said, “It’s not illegal to be a refugee.” This is wrong. First, many of them are not refugees. Second, what is “legal” today can become illegal tomorrow. In fact, throughout history it was illegal to allow these people in and illegal to give them free housing, benefits and jobs.
