I Will Bless Them That Bless Thee - Part I

"And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee:
and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed." Genesis 12:3

This article describes God's chosen people Israel and the land God has
given them and the curse upon nations who come against Israel. It also
looks at what God has in the future for Israel and the New Jerusalem.

This article was written when President Bush was in office, but
unfortunately, our current President Trump is doing some of the same
things.

1. I Will Bless Them That Bless Thee
a) Israel: God's Chosen People
In Deuteronomy 7:6-10 it says "6 For thou art an holy people unto the LORD
thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto
himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth. 7 The LORD
did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in
number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people: 8 But
because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he
had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty
hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of
Pharaoh king of Egypt. 9 Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God,
the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him
and keep his commandments to a thousand generations; 10 And repayeth them
that hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him
that hateth him, he will repay him to his face."

These scriptures and others show how God chose the people Israel. In Psalm
105:6-15 it says "6 O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob
his chosen. 7 He is the LORD our God: his judgments are in all the earth.
8 He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to
a thousand generations. 9 Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his
oath unto Isaac; 10 And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to
Israel for an everlasting covenant: 11 Saying, Unto thee will I give the
land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance: 12 When they were but a few
men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it. 13 When they went from
one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people; 14 He suffered
no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes; 15
Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm."

In verse 11 we see that God gave Israel the land of Canaan and also
protected them as it says in verses 14 and 15.

b) The Land God Gave To Abraham and Israel
Genesis 13:15-18 shows how God gave Abram or Abraham and his seed (which
is Israel today) all the land that he could see with eyes. In Genesis
13:15-18 it says "15 For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I
give it, and to thy seed for ever. 16 And I will make thy seed as the dust
of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then
shall thy seed also be numbered. 17 Arise, walk through the land in the
length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee. 18
Then Abram removed his tent, and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre,
which is in Hebron, and built there an altar unto the LORD."

In Genesis 15:18 God shows Abraham the land promised to him and his seed
which is Israel. In Genesis 15:18 it says "In the same day the LORD made a
covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from
the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:"
